Photo Gallery: Bathurst 6 Hour – 2021

by Apr 11, 2021

Mount Panorama and endurance racing just go hand in hand. So it was great to get back out to the mountain for the second time this year for the 2021 edition of the Bathurst 6 Hour.

After missing out last year, it was great to see the production car field return to Bathurst in full force with a huge line-up of both new and returning entries.

The mix of professional and enthusiasts drivers that make up the field always makes this one an interesting race to watch play out. While pushing production-based race cars to their limits for 6 hours around Mt Panorama means that attrition is always a factor in mixing up the result.

In previous years, the Bathurst 6 Hour has been one of the more casual motorsport events for us to cover. It has definitely grown over the last few years which has been great to witness, attracting some very talented drivers and engineers and upping the level of competition. However, the support categories were typically much lower key.

The Bathurst 6 Hour program took a huge step forward this year with Australian Racing Groups involvement. In fact, the support card was even more packed than a Bathurst 1000 schedule. It definitely showed with a good number of spectators around the circuit for this year’s event.

TCR Australia’s debut at The Mountain was huge, while the combination of the now typical Shannons Motorsport Australia Championship categories made for a very busy program.

It’s been great to see what Australian Racing Group has done since taking over the Bathurst 6 Hour and shows the potential of what the Bathurst International should be when it makes its belated debut in November.

Here’s a small sampling of some of my favourite photos from the Bathurst 6 Hour at Mount Panorama.
