Photo Gallery: Supercars – Hidden Valley/Darwin – 2021

I’m pretty sure I say this every year, but the annual Supercars round in Darwin is always a favourite.

Hidden Valley is a great circuit, weather is always a good reprieve from winter and there is always a fantastic atmosphere when we head to the Northern Territory. I’m not counting last year; that was very much an oddity.

Following on from the very last-minute postponement of the round at Winton… Look, I won’t mention the expense incurred by so many people, particularly support category competitors for no result. Still, it’s needless to say many people have made significant sacrifices to try to make motorsport events happen as per usual this year.

So to get up to Dariwn, and have the Triple Crown event go ahead as normal was a relief. Again, I’m really thankful to the Victorian Supercars teams for scrambling out of the state yet again to ensure that the event could go ahead as scheduled.

It was a decent support card as well. A really good event for general motorsport fans with a bit of something for everyone with Stadium Super Trucks, Superbikes and combined category for some of the locals to put on a show in front of crowd.

In fact it was the first time I’d had the oppurtunity to shoot proper two-wheel motorsport, which was a fun and interesting challenge.

Shooting motobikes is a bit like shooting open wheel race cars, where its more about the person (rider/driver) than equipment. But bikes are lot more dynamic in the way they move around particularly as they lean through corners. A bit of fun for something different.

Now for the real reason you are here… I’ve complied a couple of my favourites for the Repco Supercars Championship round at Hidden Valley Raceway in Darwin for 2021 below.
